eComm is officially here!

T oday, we officially had our online store's first "testing transaction" go through, successfully. We are hoping to have many options for both services and products, that utilize this technology, for your to choose from in the future.

Ok, so what?! Why is this significant? Why should you care?

Well, first and foremost we do need to say, this is NOT the first time we have successfully set up and online store, or had our first sale online. In fact, we have been doing it for about 10 years now. This is however, the first time we have both hosted our own site and our own eComm store.

Wait, didn't you just say you've done it before? You're is confusing me!

Y es, We have but, historically, we relied on 3rd party eComm vendors, like Shopify or Society6, to host stores. Which meant visitors would need to leave the company hosted site, usually via a new window, make a purchase there, then hopefully find their way back to our site to continue whatever they were doing before.

On the developer's side, the 3rd party integration was usually clunky and time consuming, too. Sometimes, responsiveness was lost. Nearly always there were design aspects that had to be shoe horned in to fit, since they we usually set up in 2 different environments. This made usability for everyone more difficult than it needed to be and time consuming.

Now, everything plays well together and has these benefits:

1. We have complete uniform control over all aspects of the look and design, site wide. Everything looks and feels like the same place.

2. Your customers no longer have to leave your site to shop. Making your site more sticky.

3. You no longer have to pay the extra $30-$500 a month fee, that third party storefront sites charge.

4. All aspects of the transaction and customer you now control.

5. Backend maintenance is a lot easier.

6. We can now sell multiple file types, including physical products, digital downloads, and virtual consulting calls. All from the same place backend environment.

7. The same responsiveness on all devices as the main site.
